littleskrillextings: I first came across Sonny’s music on youtube when I was 13 or 14 years old. I had only just moved from England to New Jersey, I didn’t know anyone, I was an angst ridden teenager who liked to dress in allblackeverything, wear a lot of eyeliner, grow my hair over my eyes and pierce every facial extremity available. I think what first appealed to me was the fact that this was a group of guys who dressed just like me, with hair just like me, singing songs about feeling just how I felt. The fact that Sonny was only 16 was something else that really intrigued me. This kid wasn’t much older than me, yet he was touring the country with my favorite band, he was on TV and in magazines, he was famous. I guess he was an inspiration and a role model to me right from the start. For Christmas that year, I got the album Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count and that became my most played album for a good three years afterwards. But this post isn’t just for the kids who grew up listening to FFTL. The beginning is the moment you discovered Sonny, whether that was in FFTL, as Sonny Moore or as Skrillex. This post is dedicated to everyone who instantly fell under that spell that’s so uniquely his. His fascinating charm and charisma. There’s something about him that just leaves you wanting more. One more song. One more interview. One more picture. One more video.  This post is dedicated to everyone who’s loved him since they first discovered him, and will keep on loving him to the end.
